gold clouds, sunset time-lapse

This really happened, as shot from my terrace, straight from raw Nikon NEF to much smaller JPG files assembled and saved as GIF with its automatic restriction of 256 colors.

See how much this kills a photographer to go from such splendid photos in which each one could make a great billboard instead shrunken miserably twice through three types of files to postage stamp size and limited color? And video compression is even worse. I'm not complaining, I like the result. The raw NEFs are gone. Too bad, a few of the 200 would be worth printing. It's just the start anyway. This summer should be very good.
